Dedicated to Student Success
Lakewood School provides a supportive learning environment where personal growth and self-care are facilitated as an integral part of learning this profession. We gear our education to meet the needs of students who have a variety of learning styles.
The workshop elective portion of the program is designed to encourage students to develop in their own areas of interest.
Small Class Sizes
Our small class sizes provide for lots of interaction. Students build relationships with their classmates and develop a classroom community. Instructors are easy to access and available. There is a 10:1 student to teacher ratio in our Technique classes.
Instructors are Qualified and Approachable
Our faculty is a group of creative, specially qualified instructors. Those teaching Theory and Technique are Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and are currently practicing Massage Therapists. They inspire students to learn and keep the classroom interactive and interesting. Our staff & faculty are dedicated to the success of the students and keep their knowledge current with new educational experiences every year.
Lakewood Graduates are In Demand
There are a number of settings where massage therapists practice and the job outlook is on the rise. The U.S. Department of Labor’s 2012-2013 Occupational Outlook Handbook predicts up to a 20% job growth in the months and years to come.
College Credit / Articulation Agreements
Graduates can transfer their clock hours from Lakewood School for college credit through two articulation agreements with St. Clair County Community College and Siena Heights University.
