Workshops are offered in a variety of topics that are complementary to massage. Workshops may be taken as Electives in the Therapeutic Massage Program, and may also be taken for Continuing Education (CE). CE is available for any Massage Therapist, not just Lakewood Graduates.
A component of the Therapeutic Massage Program
Currently enrolled students choose 6 elective workshops (96 contact hours) to complete their graduation requirement. This provides an opportunity for students to add to their skill set in areas of their individual interest. Students may take more than six workshops if they choose. Check with the office for information on whether they would be covered by financial aid, or to make other financial arrangements.
Continuing Education Units (CEU’s)
Workshops are also offered to graduates and members of the public for continuing education. Some of the workshops have prerequisites. Lakewood School is an approved provider of CEU’s by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
